Posted by Jacob Herman

If your business has ten or more locations, you’re Google My Business Locations interface received a face lift today. Upon logging into your Google My Business account you will be greeted with this message:Screen Shot 2015-05-13 at 10.18.55 AM

The new look has a cleaner and easier to use feel to it. Most of the previous functionality has remained unchanged but there are a couple of new features.

Easier way to Resolve Updates:

Google is constantly crawling various sources to validate local data. If they come across any discrepancies with pin locations, hours of operation, or categorization they will present owners with a “Resolve Updates” link.

The “Resolve Updates” link takes owners to a new page that lists all recommended updates for that location.

Resolve Issues

Account Overview:

Google has always provided owners with an account overview. I like the new layout because it consolidates all available views of the account under one drop down. Google was nice enough to add a “To-do list” that allows owners a quick and easy way to view all pending actions that need to be implemented to live locations.

My favorite upgrade to the Account Overview tab is the “Contact Support” option. This has been a much needed feature since the beginning of time. This gives owners several options to contact support. I have tested out each one and I am happy to say that all of them not only worked, but the response time was surprisingly fast.

Store Listing Previews:

Google has made it easier for owners to preview their listings as they appear to customers. The preview options include Google search results, Google maps, and Google+ page. The other three icons are shortcuts to the edit business information page, location analytics, and reviews overview.
