PMG Gives Back has been in full swing this December. In addition to volunteering at Cook Children’s Hospital and MHMR of Tarrant County, our company-wide quarterly service project was all about spreading holiday cheer. This December we decided to focus our efforts on a few causes near and dear to PMGers.

First, we gathered donations across all PMG’s offices to help sponsor the Cook Children’s annual Christmas dinner. The kids at the hospital got to enjoy a festive dinner with their families. Additionally, PMG hosted its monthly game night there, and our team members were lucky enough to play board games with the patients. While Cook Children’s is a PMG client, our volunteer work with them predates that relationship, and we’re so honored to have an opportunity to support them.

The second cause we supported this month was the Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County’s annual holiday party. PMG’s Casandra Jones brought this opportunity to the agency, as she’s been actively volunteering at Union Gospel Mission for years. In addition to financially supporting the event, PMG also provided help throughout the week leading up to the party by making decorations and scarves to hand out to kids. All told, PMG served over 400 ice cream sundaes, painted festive designs on smiling faces, and even helped bring Kris Kringle (our own Jordan Schmitt) to take photos with the children.

“I’m so thankful for PMG, not only for the company’s financial support of the event but also for creating an environment that fosters so much love, community and giving,” said Jones.

Our holiday season efforts also involved the Mission Arlington annual Christmas Store. The Christmas Store is in place to assist families in need, helping parents to give gifts to their children where they otherwise might not have been able to do so. PMG’s Kathlyn Risenhoover brought the opportunity, as she and her family have been involved with the organization for years. The team rallied around to gather new unwrapped toys and bikes to donate to the store.

Lastly, the PMG Gives Back team also volunteered at the MHMR of Tarrant County’s holiday party. From assisting in party set-up to encouraging the performers at the talent show, we enjoyed getting to spread holiday cheer at our local MHMR.

In all the holiday madness that comes with agency life, we are especially thankful for the opportunity to give back during the holiday season. Even the smallest bit can make a difference and we are very humbled to be apart of the difference for some families.

L.A. Moncrief, one of the leaders of PMG’s community outreach, said it best: “My favorite part of helping with PMG Gives Back is hearing how it touched a co-worker’s life. Too often we take the little things for granted, and when you are playing board games with a child staying at Cook Children’s or creating a snow globe with a homeless child at Union Gospel, it’s a good reminder for how lucky we all are at PMG.”
