On March 24th of this year, we had our first College Recruiting Open House. We had met so many great candidates at career fairs and had received so many applications for internships or full time positions after graduation that we thought this would be a great time to let all of these potential candidates come visit our office and find out more about PMG.

Our goal was to introduce as many topics as possible to the attendees. Each student was greeted at the door and given a “passport” to the event. We divided the office into 11 different areas, one for each content area. The students who attended could get a 15 minute presentation on Internships, PMG Clubs & PMG Gives Back, Account Services, Creative, Social, Innovation & Development, Advanced Media, SEO, Analytics, PMG 101 or Getting to Know PMGers. The event started at 5:00 pm and ended at 7:00. Each attendee had the opportunity to choose up to 7 different sessions. At the end of the evening the students were able to enter a drawing for a $100 gift card. The entry forms in their passport let us know what schools were represented, as well as the students’ majors, graduation date, why they were interested in PMG and some of their favorite hobbies.

Over 70 students attended our Open House. We had candidates from TCU, Baylor, UTA, UNT, Oklahoma State, LSU, Mary Hardin Baylor, the University of Texas and the University of Arkansas. We were very pleased with the number since we realized after the initial planning that the event was scheduled at the beginning of a long Easter weekend. We plan to continue this event with a fall Open House. We have received a lot of feedback from college career centers that students want to see the environment where they will be working and what the culture is like. We have a beautiful work space and great employees, so we are happy to show them off!
