Stephen Hill has written this article. More details coming soon.

Here are my favorite features of the latest Adobe Photoshop release, Photoshop CC. It’s all about brains! Smart this & intelligent that! Here is an infographic to distract you before you dive right in and learn a little CC.

1. Smart SharpenLike saving time? So do I. This tool is unbelievable. If you shop, learn how to use it:

Photographer Rafael Concepcion takes a look at the Smart Sharpen feature in the new Adobe Photoshop CC.

PRO TIP: Before you begin, with your file selected, be sure and choose filter > Convert for Smart Filters turning your image into a Smart Object so that you can have a Smart filters.Same tool (sorta) in Gimp

2. Intelligent UpsamplingEnlarge low res images. Advanced magic! Think Geniuine Fractals inside potoshop!

Play with “preserve details” & “reduce noise”.

Results? Not to bad:)

3. Smart GuidesSmart Guides are now turned on by default. They have been around for a while but CC has added some useful new ways to use them. Enjoy.

4. Improved Layer CompsThese have been around a while too, but the new features are great for designers to quickly share ideas. When layer comps are contained in a Smart Object, you can choose the layer comp to be displayed. The panel now shows you which attributes each layer comp controls & you can sync changes to multiple Layer Comps. Nice.

Photoshop CC has a lot more ridiculously Smart and intelligent improvements and features. For example another huge improvement that I havn’t even mentioned is the apply ACR as a Smart Filter! If your not taking advantage of this feature your just not utilizing the full potential of the power of photoshop. Here is a list of some of the other new features. Just like they say, they have been busy.

CC also contains a lot of the same old stuff and a few features that are still complete rubbish. Don’t let that cool looking 3d splash screen fool you. No offence to all of the Photoshop 3d tool experts. You know who I’m talking about. Adobe has done 3d right with After Effects by it’s integration with Cinema 4D lite. Photoshop on the other hand, um not so much.

Whats that you say? “But that learning Photoshop 3d video was awesome!” Right? Sure. Go ahead and and give it a try but I wouldn’t waste my time, it’s too precious.
