Amazon US Search Volume Climbs 8% YoY in August 2024
Amazon US search volume grew 8% year-over-year (YoY) in August 2024. This is the second consecutive analysis where Momentum Commerce has reported an 8% YoY search volume increase. Search volume declined slightly less than 1% on a month-over-month basis.


Biggest Takeaways for Brands
Beauty & Personal Care (+19.9%), Grocery & Gourmet Food (+19.1%), and Tools & Home Improvement (+17.1%) saw the largest YoY search volume gains
This is the second consecutive month where Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry has posted a YoY decline in search volume
A number of brands in this space are competing against growing pressure from Shein and Temu
For brands selling items under or close to $20, it’s worth re-evaluating pricing and advertising strategies to align with commission structure changes
Beauty & Personal Care and Grocery & Gourmet Food gained the most share of Amazon search volume, each increasing 11% YoY
