CBID Conversation With CNN’s Ben Hunte

As Pride celebrations took place across the United Kingdom and the United States this summer, we welcomed CNN Anchor and Correspondent Ben Hunte as part of our ‘DIG In’ speaker series for a thoughtful conversation about identity and leadership. Hosted from our London office and streamed globally, the discussion invited our team members to reflect on the power of visibility, authentic inclusion, and the opportunity each of us has to create workplaces where everyone can thrive.

Ben's career has been defined by breaking barriers. From becoming the BBC's first LGBT Correspondent, to later serving as its youngest correspondent and the first Black man to hold the role of BBC Africa Correspondent, he has consistently challenged expectations while reporting on some of the world's most important stories. Today, as an anchor and correspondent for CNN, he continues to bring global audiences stories at the intersection of culture, politics, and society.

Throughout the conversation, moderated by PMG’s Kira Lauber-Stracey, Ben shared how his own experiences shaped both his life and his journalism. He spoke candidly about resilience, belonging, and the importance of creating pathways for others to follow. Ben encouraged us to think beyond representation alone, challenging leaders to build cultures where people feel genuinely supported, valued, and able to contribute fully. The conversation concluded with an engaging audience Q&A that explored storytelling, leadership, and the evolving role organizations play in fostering belonging.
